Sauna
Enjoy five distinct saunas: a tea-room–themed sauna selected by SAUNACHELIN, a star sauna surrounded by the tranquility of the forest, and a Tengu sauna overlooking the Kano River, each offering a different mood. The cold plunge pool contains water from a natural river, pleasantly cooling your heated body.
Tea room sauna (Tsukinoyu)
Designed by industry leader Dai Matsuo, this sauna features an atmospheric design inspired by a traditional tea room. In 2019 it was selected by SAUNACHELIN as one of the “11 Saunas You Must Visit Now,” chosen from 5,000 facilities nationwide.
Hoshi Sauna (Hoshi no Yu)
The newly installed square barrel sauna at Hoshi no Yu. A moment of gentle warmth while feeling the breath of nature. The aroma of Estonian ThermoWood drifts softly, warming you from your feet to deep within your body.
Tengu Sauna (Tengu no Yu)
A sauna designed with hot spring water flowing in that offers excellent moisturizing effects. Enjoy the rustic view of the Kano River and the aroma of cypress (hinoki) covering the walls. Ranked in SAUNACHELIN in 2020. From 2025/09/13 it will be reopened/converted as a mixed-gender thermal spring where swimwear or yukata-style bathing robes must be worn.
Barrel sauna
Located on the banks of the Kano River, this riverside barrel sauna allows you to enjoy a natural cold plunge after your body has warmed up in the sauna. We also provide a self-service löyly set, as well as vihta (birch branches), aroma oils, and massage stones, allowing you to experience a truly rustic sauna bath.
- With the Kawabe Sauna reservation plan option, you can use the private sauna for 90 minutes for 10,000 yen per person.
Hearth sauna (villa Shakunage)
The irori (sunken-hearth) sauna at Ochiairo Annex “Shakunage” is a space wrapped in the scent of wood and soft light, where gentle heat from the hearth spreads slowly and deeply to the core of your body as you gather around it.
